As a parent or guardian in our School community, you are invited to the CBS PAC General Meeting, Tuesday, October 14th 2008 7 pm till 9pm. (In the Senior’s Center) Guest Speaker: A GRANDMOTHER’S TRIBE - Film Screening A Grandmother’s Tribe is a 54-minute documentary that turns an unobstructed lens to the grandmothers of Africa today. These remarkable women, mourning the loss of their own adult children to AIDS, have taken on the responsibility of raising their now orphaned grandchildren. It is a silent phenomenon that has rippled beneath the surface of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in sub-Saharan Africa. It is a story of courage and love, but most of all, hope. The film has been launched as a global "Take Action Initiative”, with proceeds benefiting the Stephen Lewis Foundation. Executive Producer Elaine Munro will be here to present the film and connect the documentary with “on the ground” efforts happening with Voiceless Children in Africa
