Reminders: School Safety Protocols

Dear Cordova Bay Parents/Guardians,

With the recent news from our Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, regarding the significant increase in COVID-19 cases in B.C., I would like to take this time to remind that schools are deemed “controlled environments”. It is important, therefore, that all individuals follow the same safety protocols and controls in order to ensure ongoing health and safety of everyone in our school community. Please see the protocols below.

If you are a parent/caregiver/guest who would like to enter the school to pick up a child, attend a meeting or for other business, please:

  • contact the school office when you arrive at the school @ 250 658 5315, prior to entering
  • arrive as close to your scheduled meeting/pickup time as you can
  • wear a mask
  • used the hand sanitizer provided at the front door
  • sign in on sheet at front door
  • complete a Health Check (provided on the table) and ONLY ENTER the school if you are well
  • be sure to check in with teacher or front office on the location of the class, if you are here for a meeting
  • proceed to class directly and do not access restricted areas or common areas
  • advise staff, if you need to use a washroom, so we can alert custodial for cleaning/sanitizing
  • respect physical distancing while in building
  • leave the building as soon as possible after your meeting and leave via the nearest exit

We are grateful that families continue to make every effort, at outside drop-off and pick-up, to maintain physical distancing. Thank you, as well, for wearing a mask in those situations where physical distancing is more challenging.

With gratitude for your care and attention to the above health and safety protocols,

Mrs. ML Heron

Principal
