SCHOOL NEWS...
Sidney Food Bank Hamper Donations: A BIG THANK YOU to all the Cordova Bay School families and staff for your support in collecting items to make food hampers for the Sidney Food Bank! We made 20 food hampers and collected an extra 9 boxes of other food!!! They were so appreciative! Thank you again for your generosity!
Elementary Reporting: Report Cards will be sent home tomorrow, December 17th. British Columbia has a redesigned curriculum which affords us an opportunity to think about how we assess and report on student progress. In Saanich, our goal is to continually improve and to ensure that families are well informed about their children’s progress. This year elementary students in Saanich will receive a report card that looks slightly different than in the past. Teachers in Saanich will be using MyEducation to create report cards. See the attached letter for all the details.

School Office During Winter Break: The school office will be closed Dec. 21-Jan. 1 and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 4.
It’s Wet Out There! A reminder to parents/guardians to have their children dressed appropriately to go outside as most days children will go outdoors for their breaks. Rubber boots, waterproof jackets and rain pants are suggested especially if your child likes to play in/near the puddles! Please send in their backpacks a full change of clothes should they need to change as we do not have a change of clothes available at school.
Reporting of Student Absences: The office really appreciates all the calls regarding your child’s absence to the school Safe Arrival Line at 250 658-4002! Please ensure that you call each day that your child will be away. Thank you so much for your help in this this!
