Dear Parents and Guardians,

A warm welcome back from the Cordova Bay School Team. My staff and I are grateful for our partnership with you and keen to support students and families in the best way possible, as we gradually transition to a “near normal” or “more typical” school start-up. We are mindful that this "near normal" transition will require a gradual and thoughtful approach, as we want to be respectful of the different student, family and staff comfort levels. We are committed to working very closely with the school Parent Advisory Council and our school and district Joint Health and Safety Team prior to making any transitions to things such as school community-building events and parent volunteering in the school. Thank you, in advance, for sharing with me and your PAC your thoughts and ideas, as we start the process of planning ways to bring our community together in safe and meaningful ways.

You will have received an email from Mr. Dave Eberwein, Superintendent, outlining the Communicable Disease Plan for K-12: https://www.sd63.bc.ca/

As per this plan, all K-12 staff and students in Gr 4-12 are required to wear masks while indoors or on the school bus.  K-Gr 3 students are encouraged to wear masks, but this remains the choice of the student and their family.

Our staff has been working very hard to prepare welcoming learning spaces for our students. We just can't wait to see them - the excitement of staff is palpable! In the weeks to come, we look forward to sharing out a plan to welcome parents and guardians to these spaces. Thank you for contacting the office at 250-658-5315, prior to entering the building, so we can support safe and planned visits.
