SCHOOL NEWS...

School Open House & PAC BBQ:  Families are invited to attend our school Open House and PAC BBQ tomorrow, Thursday, 20th, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.  See the attached PDF for more information on the PAC BBQ.


Terry Fox Run:  Friday, September 21st, from 9:00-10:00 am.  PARENT VOLUNTEERS are NEEDED to marshall the route.  Please meet at the school office at 8:30 am if you are able help out.


Student School Start-Up Packages:  SIGNED Student Startup packages are now DUE.  Please return your child's signed forms to your classroom teacher asap.


PAC Hot Lunch:  The first Hot Lunch Day is Friday, September 28th.  Don't delay, click HERE to register and order online! Order deadline is Sunday, September 23rd at midnight.


Students with Life Threatening Conditions:   If you have a student with a life threatening medical condition, please ensure that you contact the school office at (250)-658-5315 to receive the appropriate paperwork to complete.  If you have received a letter from the school office regarding your child's medical condition, please return the completed paperwork asap.  


Students that will be Absent from School or Arrive Late:  If your child will be absent from school, please call the School Safe Arrival line at (250)-658-4002.  If your child arrives late for school, please have them sign in at the office before going to class. 


School Parking:  Please be respectful of our neighbour’s driveways by not parking in them or blocking them with a parked vehicle.  Additionally, there is a designated spot, at the back of the school (along the fence on Rambler Road), for a student with special needs.  An Education Assistant is currently marking this spot with a cone until facilities can provide an official sign.


PAC Barn Bucks Fundraiser is Now On:  Purchase Barn Bucks gift cards through the Cordova Bay PAC to buy your groceries at the Red Barn market.  Order deadline is Wednesday, September 26th and additional order forms are available at the office.

NEW Criminal Record Check & Volunteer Driver Policy:  The School Board has changed its Criminal Record Check process and Volunteer Driver Policy.  If you would like to participate in class field trips, please click HERE for more information on the requirements needed.


COMMUNITY NEWS...

UVic Men's Intra-Squad Exhibition Basketball Game:  On Saturday, Sept 21st from 7-9pm, Parkland Secondary will be hosting a UVic Men's Intra-Squad Exhibition Basketball Game as a fundraiser for the Tour de Rock & Cops for Cancer Foundation! The cost to enter will be $2 for children and $5 for adults, and ALL proceeds raised will go directly to the Cops for Cancer Foundation. Parking is free and the doors will open at 6:30 pm.  Bring your family & friends and come out and enjoy some fantastic basketball action and support an extremely worthy cause at the same time!
