SCHOOL NEWS...

Message for Grade 5 Parents/Guardians - CB55+ Volunteer Appreciation Tea:  Please see the attached emailed from Mrs. Heron for a request for baked items/fruit.

Bus Registration for 2019-20 is NOW OPEN:  To register click HERE Students must be registered by July 15th, 2019 to ensure a seat on the bus for September 2019.  

PAC On-Line School Supply Ordering for 2019-20:  On-line ordering is now OPEN for ordering School Supplies for the 2019-20 school year.  Monk Office provides 10% of the on-line sales of school supply kits to our school Parent Advisory Committee (PAC).  If you wish, families can order and pay on-line for their child’s school supplies and they will be delivered to school the first week of September and sorted by PAC parent volunteers.   See the attached PDF for more information.  Printed copies of the supply lists are now available at the school office.


Message for Grade 5 Students Attending in September from Karen MacEwan, ROMS Principal:  Dear Gr. 5 Parents:  I would like to invite you to attend our final Royal Oak PAC meeting of the year on Thurs, June 20th from 6-8pm.  Normally our PAC meets at 7pm, but we are going to be available at 6pm to meet with you to answer any questions you may have about the transition to middle school, and to give you a tour of the school.  The PAC exec will also be available to chat about opportunities to get involved at Royal Oak (in whatever way it works with your schedule).  We hope you'll join us for this special opportunity to connect and learn a more about the school and our wonderful PAC!  Looking forward to seeing you!

Food Bank Donations:  In recognition of the need by our local food banks for donations at this time of the year, we would like to encourage families to drop off a non-perishable food item to the table in the hall near the gym sometime over the next week. 

Lost & Found Items: There are a lot of items in the Lost & Found! Please come into the school during drop-off or pick-up to view the items on hangers and on the tables by the gym. Items not claimed by the end of June will be donated to charity.

Families Leaving Cordova Bay Elementary School:  If you have a child in Kindergarten to Grade 4 and your family will not be returning to Cordova Bay Elementary in September, could you please let the school know asap for planning purposes.  Thank you.

Reminders for Parents:

  • Reporting of Student Absences:  A friendly reminder for families to ensure that you contact the school Safe Arrival Line at 250 658-4002 if your child will be absent from school.  If you’re child will be away for more than one day, please ensure that you call of all the days that your child will be away.  This is a huge help to the Safe Arrival Parent Volunteers.   Thank you!
  • Utensils for Eating Snacks & Lunches:  A reminder for families to please pack utensils for your child so they are able to eat their snack or lunch!
