Dear Cordova Bay Families,

As per the District Superintendent’s post to families, this afternoon, https://www.sd63.bc.ca/  we very much look forward to welcoming back students on June 1st. In preparing for our partial return, please note the following:

1.    Students will attend 2 days per week;

2.    The cohort days (Mon/Tues or Wed/Thurs) will be assigned alphabetically by the classroom teacher and with consideration to Health and Safety guidelines for school density;

3.    Parents will know their specific schedule by Wednesday the 27th;

Any changes to your family plans, as indicated in the survey, need to be communicated directly to the school by 3:00 on Tuesday, May 26 (either to the teacher or to Mrs. Heron mheron@saanichschools.ca), as only those families who indicate that they are returning will be placed in a cohort.

Our School Health and Safety team will continue to establish our safety plan and protocols in preparation for June. Over the course of next week, staff will receive on site safety orientations, parents will receive information regarding health checks, parent access to the school, pick up and drop off and other important information and students will continue with remote learning (May 25-29th).

For students planning a partial return to school in June, our staff is keen to support their reintegration in the best way possible. Cordova Bay staff thank you for your ongoing partnership and for reaching out to us where you feel your child may have some unique needs related to this transition.

With gratitude for your partnership,

Mrs ML Heron

Principal
