SCHOOL NEWS...

COVID Safety Reminders:

  • Physical Distancing & Masks:  Thank you to parents for maintaining physical distancing at pick-up and drop-off times and for wearing your masks. 
  • Entering the School Building:  If you wish to enter the school for any reason, please call 250-658-5315 and enter by the front door only where hand sanitizer and the health check sign-in are available.
  • Mobile Health Check APP:  Families are encouraged to download and use daily the new mobile Health Check App.  
GRADE 5 Students:  The Grade 5 Yearbook Committee is preparing a yearbook for the Grade 5 students. Please submit the following to: kirstendenham@gmail.com  by Wednesday, April 7th.

  • A baby picture of your child.
  • Photos of your children (and their classmates) at school events from grades Kindergarten - Grade 5.  These can be from field trips, concerts, assemblies, sports teams, class or school events, around the school - anything related to Cordova Bay Elementary.  We ask that you send no more than 10 photos per family.  Please ensure that the families of all students in the photos that you submit, have agreed to having their child’s photos in the yearbook. 
  • Please fill out the following questions with your child by clicking on the form: Grade 5 Survey

Times Colonist Literacy Society Grant:  Mrs. Bales and Ms. Jenkins are delighted to announce that the Times Colonist Literacy Society has once again generously provided a grant in the amount of $1,900 to support the purchase of new books for the Learning Commons.  Cordova Bay Elementary acknowledges the financial support of the Province of British Columbia through the Ministry of Education, as well as the Times Colonist Literacy Society.  We look forward to the purchase of many new books!

Reporting of Student Absences:  The office really appreciates all the calls regarding your child’s absence to the school Safe Arrival Line at 250 658-4002!  Please ensure that you call each day that your child will be away or provide the dates if they will have an extended absence.  Thank you so much for your help in this this!

Families Not Returning to Cordova Bay in September 2021:  If your child will not return to Cordova Bay Elementary for the 2021-22 school year, could you kindly let the school know asap for planning purposes.  Thank you.

Quadratic Sound Stem-Based Spring Break Programs:  Choose your week:   March 15-19 or March 22-26

COVID Safety:  As these camps are in-person, Quadratic Sound and its affiliates will be observing COVID-19 procedures to ensure the safety of everyone attending. Our instructors will be wearing masks at all times, our equipment and facilities will be regularly sanitized, hand sanitizers will be available, social distancing will be respected among participants, and only one family will be allowed in at a time to pick up/drop off their kids. In our Lego Robotics programs, participants will be in bubbles of two and each bubble will be 6ft apart from each other. The equipment will not be shared with the other groups during the session. In our Game Design & Mine-craft Modding program, participants will be in their own bubble and they will not share any of the equipment during the session.
