Daily Health Check

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for your ongoing support, as we transition to the new mask requirement (K-3 students were added Monday, October 4th). As per the information provided in the BCCDC guidelines (p.20):

The use of masks should not reduce or replace other more effective infection prevention and exposure control measures in schools, such as:

▪ ensuring students and staff are aware of their responsibility to perform a daily health check, and to stay home when they are sick or if required to self-isolate

▪ daily cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces; and

▪ frequent hand hygiene.

These measures provide multiple layers of protection that reduce the risk of transmission.

As per the Supportive School Environments information on p.7, Cordova Bay staff will continue to fully support any students who cannot comply with a specific safety measure due to health or behavioural reasons.

All families are encouraged to continue doing a Daily Health Check for each child in the household and to follow the prompts provided by the Health Check. If the Health Check prompts you to stay home, contact a health care provider or call 8-1-1 about your symptoms and next steps.

With gratitude for your partnership,

Mrs. Mary Lynn Heron
