We are joining the majority of those in British Columbia as we practice our routines for safety during an Earthquake. This will occur on Thursday, October 17 at about 10:15 a.m. Our focus will be on using the procedure of 'Duck and Cover' and then counting to 60 after all sounds of earthquake have stopped. If you're in the school during that time be prepared for our school to 'stop, duck and cover'!
You may wish to review your family emergency plans with your children in the next few weeks. In case of a significant earthquake we ask that all children have a comfort pack (from home) at school. We suggest you include: warm socks, toque, mitts/gloves, family photo or note, small package of Kleenex, small game or stuffed animal, glow stick, toothpaste/toothbrush. Please have items in a Ziploc bag marked clearly with your child's name.
