On Thursday, October 25, Sergeant Nick Ross worked with all the students at Cordova Bay Elementary to teach them safety tips if they were trick-or-treating on Hallowe'en night.

- always be in a group and preferably with a responsible adult
- wear face paint or makeup rather than masks (for better vision)
- wear footwear that makes it easy to walk
- wear clothing that helps drivers see you (be visible)
- eat BEFORE you go trick-or-treating
- wait to consume any treats until AFTER a responsible adult has checked through the collected items
- only visit houses that have lights on
- stay on the sidewalks and go up one side of the street and down the other, rather than crossing back and forth
