On Thursday, October 25, Sergeant Nick Ross worked with all the students at Cordova Bay Elementary to teach them safety tips if they were trick-or-treating on Hallowe'en night.
His reminders included:
  • always be in a group and preferably with a responsible adult
  • wear face paint or makeup rather than masks (for better vision)
  • wear footwear that makes it easy to walk
  • wear clothing that helps drivers see you (be visible)
  • eat BEFORE you go trick-or-treating
  • wait to consume any treats until AFTER a responsible adult has checked through the collected items
  • only visit houses that have lights on
  • stay on the sidewalks and go up one side of the street and down the other, rather than crossing back and forth

We wish everyone a safe and happy Hallowe'en.
