Fortis BC Natural Gas Availability

The Saanich School District is doing its part in helping to reduce demand for natural gas this winter.

The two Enbridge natural gas pipelines in BC are not operating at full capacity resulting in an anticipated reduction in the amount of gas available throughout the province.   The Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, the Honourable Michelle Mungall, has asked all school districts to assist in helping by conserving natural gas during this time of constrained supply.

We have lowered our thermostats a couple of degrees to help moderate our gas consumption in our buildings.   If we all do our small part we should be able to see our province make it through the winter without any major disruption.
